The Barbie doll is one of the most treasured toy dolls in American history, a quintessential icon of modern femininity. But now, Barbie's causing controversy. The latest version of the classic doll has some parents angry. Her outfits, with plunging necklines and rising hemlines, have become too risque, they say. And, some suggest she's showing too much.
Each doll in the new "Barbie Basic Collection" is dressed in that essential fashion statement, the little black dress. The doll that's creating the stir is the African-American doll in the series. Some moms believe the busty Barbie has not-so-ready-for-primetime cleavage.
