College Bars Student From Preaching

A Pellissippi State Community College student is accusing the school of trampling on his right to preach and hand out Christian literature on campus.

Mark Dew, 44, of Knoxville has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Pellissippi and the Tennessee Board of Regents, which oversees Pellissippi and other community colleges, alleging his First Amendment right to free speech has been denied him.

The lawsuit was filed Friday by the Alliance Defense Fund, which is described on its website as a "legal alliance of Christian attorneys and like-minded organizations."
