When it comes to the technology cool factor Republicans are the new hipsters.
Republicans have amassed nearly five times as many Facebook friends as their Democratic counterparts, says a report by HeadCount, a voter registration organization. The trend is similar on Twitter.
Republicans candidates for Senate had more than 1.43 million fans on Facebook, vs. fewer than 300,000 for Democrats. The findings support a story in IBD today highlighting, among other things, how the Tea Party movement became a political tsunami thanks to the Internet.
