Health-care legislation moving through Congress will create nothing less than a government-run system like that in Canada, according to a study released yesterday.
"Regardless of whether a public option is included, the reforms under consideration in Congress would impose such rigid control on private health plans that it amounts to a government-run health-care system -- even if the insurance companies remain technically under private ownership," concludes the report by scholar Robert A. Book of the conservative-oriented Heritage Foundation.
