For the first time, a majority of Americans blame President Barack Obama for the nation’s economic problems, according to a poll Thursday.
A majority — 53 percent — said Obama deserves “a great deal” or a “moderate amount” of the blame for the economic problems that the United States currently faces, the USA Today/Gallup poll from mid-September shows. This figure has jumped from 32 percent in July 2009, after Obama had been in office for only six months.
