Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN), an obstetrician, saved a man who went into cardiac arrest today at the Charlotte airport.
Roe’s office says the Congressman used CPR and used equipment at the airport to restart the man’s heart. Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) was traveling with Roe and observed his colleague’s performance.
Mulvaney reportedly said that he believed that man would have passed away were it not for the actions of Roe.
Roe follows in the footsteps of another Tennessee physician-turned-politician. Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) was a well-regarded heart surgeon and saved multiple lives around the Capitol complex during his time in Congress.
Frist is also known for saving the life of Russell Weston Jr., a gunman who stormed the Capitol in 1998, shooting and killing two police officers before being seriously wounded himself.

A conservative vegetarian will eat his vegetables and leave you alone. A liberal vegetarian will eat his and then demand that you only eat vegetables, too. And this is one of the big differences between liberals and conservatives across the board
