Perry Warns of Fed 'Treason'

Texas Gov. Rick Perry is quickly learning what it means to be a presidential candidate, as the off-color comments for which he is renowned attract instant scrutiny on the campaign trail.

Exhibit A. On the same day he filed his candidacy papers, Perry was captured on camera suggesting Texans might want to rough up Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke if he tries to tackle the economic slump by printing more money.

"If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don't know what y'all would do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas," Perry said in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "I mean, printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost ... treasonous in my opinion."
