MaskVerse FAQs

Q: What is the MaskVerse?

The MaskVerse is an online community for fans of The Masked Singer, NFT & art collectors at every experience level. This is your opportunity to join an exclusive community, build collections, and earn rewards!

The MaskVerse allows fans and crypto enthusiasts to buy, sell, and trade unique digital collectibles called Mask NFTs. NFTs are Non-Fungible Tokens, limited mintings of unique digital assets. Only you own your NFT, there is no copy or substitute, and your ownership is recorded on the blockchain in perpetuity.

There are 3 main elements of The MaskVerse:

  • Eluvio MaskVerse Wallets

Wallets are a unique location on the blockchain where individual users collect their MaskVerse NFTs. Each wallet is capable of storing data and transacting on behalf of its user. Currently MaskVerse NFTs can be transferred to other wallets on other blockchains (polygon and ethereum).

  • The MaskVerse Marketplace

The location on the Eluvio Content Blockchain is where users can claim or buy NFTs directly from BCL or other users and post their own NFTs for sale to other users. The Marketplace is currently in a beta release that allows users to sell and buy NFTs from each other. Planned features include the ability for users to trade and auction their NFTs. The Marketplace is where we host the Drop Party Events. The beta version of selling and buying features launched on 12/9/21.

  • The Masked Discord

The Masked Discord is a message board for MaskVerse users. It contains public channels and gated channels. Gated Channels require a user to have a specific NFT in their wallet to enter. Users can add unique “flair” to their names if they hold certain NFTs, or specific collections of NFTs, in their wallets. This is where we announce events, host all non-Drop Party Events (AMAs, fan contests, etc), and help users understand & troubleshoot The MaskVerse.

Q: How do people acquire MaskVerse NFTs?

There are many ways to acquire MaskVerse NFTs. These NFTs are minted on the Eluvio blockchain, so the first step is creating an Eluvio wallet. All of our events in the MaskVerse Marketplace require an Eluvio wallet login to attend.

MaskVerse Collectors are able to:

  • purchase NFTs in packs from BCL directly, in the Marketplace and during Drop Events
  • purchase unopened packs or individual NFTs from other users in the Marketplace
  • sell unopened packs and any individual NFTs to other users in the Marketplace
  • participate in free-to-claim NFT giveaway events, available to all wallets
  • participate in select Discord events, earning surprise free airdrops
  • collect qualifying NFTs, earning surprise free premium airdrops of NFTs & Mask Packs
  • hold complete collections, earning monthly free premium airdrops of NFTs & Mask Packs
  • redeem completed collections, exchanging qualifying NFTs for free premium NFTs

Types of NFTs in the MaskVerse:

When a user opts to open their Gold Mask Pack NFT, the pack “burns” (is destroyed) and mints three Gold Mask NFTs. Premium Deadline Terms: Events that offer premiums may include information about how to qualify, deadline to qualify, how to claim, and deadline to claim. Here is how we define those terms-

Deadline to Qualify: The date & time when a user/wallet must meet the requirements to qualify for the offer.

Deadline to Claim: The last date & time when a qualified user is able to claim the offer. Offers are void after the Deadline to Claim.

Offer Requirements: Qualifying users may be required to meet defined criteria in order to claim an offer. An example of this would be: a user qualifies for an offer of free tickets to a live performance, the user claims the offer and agrees in the claim process to follow the rules of the venue. If the venue requires audience members to wear masks, the claimant must abide by that requirement to claim their seats.

Q: What is an NFT?

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. Every NFT is one-of-a-kind.

The MaskVerse offers limited mintings of these unique digital assets. Only you own your MaskVerse NFT, there is no copy or substitute, and your ownership is recorded on the blockchain in perpetuity.

MaskVerse NFTs are stored on a distributed ledger. A distributed ledger is a shared database of all the transactions that occur on the network, and all the transactions for any given asset holder's wallet. The wallet itself is encrypted and anonymous, but all transactions must be shared on the ledger to be verifiable.

This means that- all transactions have public "witnesses'' confirming them as they occur. This validates transactions, for example:

-WALLET #5 bought unopened Mask Pack #23!

-WALLET #5 sold unopened Mask Pack #23 to WALLET #8!

-WALLET #8 opened Mask Pack #23- destroying Mask Pack #23, and minting Jester Mask NFT #80, Hamster Mask NFT #44, and Caterpillar Mask NFT #12

-WALLET #8 sold Hamster Mask NFT #44 to WALLET #37

...and so on, with every transaction being independently validated then updated on the distributed ledger within minutes, usually seconds, of its occurrence.

This distributed ledger system provides an audit trail for all parties who use the ledger, reducing the chances of fraud. Sharing the ledger also eliminates the need for a centralized authority (like a bank or government) to verify inter-network transactions. The distributed ledger, accessible to all participants, is what confirms the authenticity of every transaction. The ability to conduct verifiable, safe, transactions without the need for a centralized authority’s verification is the unique feature of Web3 that has everyone so excited!

Because the ledger verifies ownership in an auditable system, you can buy, sell, and trade your MaskVerse NFTs in other marketplaces. Welcome to the Web3 club!

The MaskVerse has partnered with the Eluvio Content Blockchain to mint our NFTs on a low-cost and ecologically friendly ledger and decentralized content storage and distribution platform. It is interoperable with Mainnet Etherium. For more information about Eluvio NFTs visit (https://live.eluv.io/blockchain#nfts).

Q: What is a media wallet?

A media wallet is an application that is both crypto wallet and personal media library. Enabling you to own and enjoy digital assets minted on the blockchain as NFTs. If the NFT has embedded media content, such as audio, video, or images, you can view and experience your content within the wallet. This provides control to the content owner, allowing the content owners to control the usage of their content and users to enjoy the NFTs they collect.

  • Wallets are designed to handle tokens which are created on specific distributed ledgers. Not all wallets can handle all cryptocurrencies.
  • Wallets store the digital asset tag from the distributed ledger using something known as private keys: long hexadecimal codes known only to you and your wallet. They match a public key allowing you proof of ownership.
  • Your wallet also has your keys to access the tokens within your wallet, allowing you to transfer the assets you own, such as selling them on a marketplace.
  • The Eluvio Media Wallet is a custodial wallet where the Eluvio platform manages signing blockchain transactions on your behalf and allows you to securely authenticate using single sign on (such as Google and Apple ID). Options to export and manage your own private keys are scheduled to be available in Phase 2 of the project.
  • Keep your passwords secure and do not share them with anyone. Make sure you use extremely unique passwords for your digital wallet and update your passwords often- Since the assets are not replicable, once they are lost, they are lost forever.

How to create a media wallet - The Eluvio Media wallet can be created within your web or mobile browser by simply signing up with your Google or Apple ID, similar to setting up an email address. The rest of the process happens automatically within the Eluvio platform.

Q: What is a digital marketplace?

A digital marketplace is like a traditional marketplace where you are looking to buy, sell, trade and auction digital assets. A NFT marketplace stores metadata for the digital assets, for instance, when was the digital asset minted, who created the asset, where is the digital asset stored, etc.

The NFT marketplace gives buyers and sellers the ability to post assets in a central location for purchasers to find the NFTs to put bids on.

Q: How can I pay for NFTs?

We support all major payment providers, like Apple Pay, Visa, MC, AMEX, Discover, and Paypal and all major cryptocurrencies via Coinbase, and purchases with any previously earned balance. Support for purchasing with native crypto payments is coming soon.

Q: Can I follow MaskVerse updates on Twitter?

Yes! Get updates from Miss Masky by following the official MaskVerse Twitter account and the official Masked Singer Twitter account.

Q: What is the Eluvio Blockchain?

To learn more about the Eluvio Blockchain and decentralized content storage and delivery (the Eluvio Content Fabric), visit Eluvio's FAQs: https://live.eluv.io/blockchain#questions

Q: How are the transactions reported?

All Content Fabric operations are recorded in the Content Fabric blockchain ledger and visible through its open ledger event log. Any contract operations on the Ethereum mainnet such as transferring an NFT from the Fabric blockchain to mainnet are standard Ethereum transactions visible in Etherscan.

Q: How are NFTs minted, displayed, and sold?

NFTs are mintable and viewable as content objects served by the Content Fabric APIs and can be rendered as streamed or static content. This allows any browser, mobile, or connected TV application or marketplace to embed NFT minting and viewing directly into its experience using any standard browser UX,streaming player, or end-user wallet. Similarly, NFTs are a “sku”-based content object that can be embedded in any checkout and payment experience.

Q: What wallets are compatible with your platform?

The Content Fabric is Ethereum compatible and thus Metamask and other Ethereum compatible wallets can be used to manage accounts on it. Stay tuned for more news on native wallets.

Q: Where are your smart contracts, specific for content creators? If so, what do they look like in regards to content? How do you enforce them?

All contracts are in open source. They are deployed in the production Content Fabric and are continually extended to add new functionality. All APIs are available on GitHub, particularly the elv-client-js APIs.

Q: Where can I find information like terms and conditions or privacy policy?
