Lawyers with the LA Innocence Project will ask a judge to give them access to evidence from the original trial of convicted murderer Scott Peterson at a status hearing (12:00pm EASTERN) Tuesday. In a filing earlier this year, LAIP said new evidence supports Peterson’s 'longstanding claim of innocence'. Peterson will appear at the hearing by remote. He was convicted in 2004 of murdering his wife Laci and their unborn son and was sentenced to life without parole.
